Keeping Tysons Moving with New Transportation Options

The 495 Express Lanes and Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project bring new travel options to the area and are changing travel in and around Tysons Corner like never before.

On June 27, 2013, attendees at the 5th annual Keep Tysons Moving event received important updates on area transportation options and improvements from the Virginia Department of Transportation, 95 and 495 Express Lanes, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project and Fairfax County.  

The event featured:

  • Information for attendees about traveling the 495 Express Lanes, how to prepare for Metro coming to Tysons and how to utilize other transportations options in Tysons Corner
  • The opportunity for attendees to speak with 19 regional transportation organizations about carpooling, vanpooling and other local transportation options
  • A presentation by the newest Express Lanes team member, Flexie – the E-ZPass® mascot, who helped present one lucky event attendee with the raffle prize – a free month of travel on the 495 Express Lanes
